TRILOGY
Creative
writing Independent, written second semester, 2001. UPDATED
SEPT 04
This is a massive story (printed, it tops 50 pages), and was
written as a creative writing independent in my last semester
of University. It deals with Arkady and Umber's beginnings (sort
of), Grant and Max's introduction, and the central conflict of
artificial life in the City. Click on the link to get more info
(and my notes), and a sectioned version of the story. (This is
actually a work in progress.)

REMEMBER
ME /
written
first semester, 2000 / assignment for Creative Writing 303
The story that spawned the Independent. It's much shorter, and
was actually used for the middle section of my Independent Study.
It stands very well on its own as a complete work, and I think
I like it better than the Independent. Anyway, if you aren't up to reading the
full Independent, I suggest tackling this story instead. It basically
details when Max and Grant meet.

Short Unrelated
Trilogy Stories
IN
MEMORY OF / written first semester, 1999.
Narrated by Max
Sort of a stand alone short story (although references are
made to the prelude), this thing still manages to elicit a grudging
sense of pride from me... It's decent, really it is, and a nice
little character painting of Max, Grant, Owly and Umber. A few
of the details here (Arkady's kidnapping & illness) I kept,
for future use in the final version of this Trilogy.

PRELUDE// written second semester, 1998.
Narrated by Max
This was the first
snippet of a story written for the Trilogy universe, and... uh...
it's really stinking the place up. :P But I'll leave it up here
so you can laugh at the unoriginal prose, over-use of pop-culture
references and totally out of character moments. eheh. No, it's
fine for what it is, really. It was a good experiment. Showed
me what worked in the Trilogy world, and what didn't.
