Max Physical: Age: 2 1/2 yrs (android) Ht: 5'8 Wt: 119 lbs. Brown hair, brown eyes. Tattoo on left sholder (#13), on thigh (#07742). Freckles. Affliation: Works at Alistaire's club, Edge 102. Sings at the club, sometimes waitressess and DJs. Lives in a cubbyhole at the back of the club. Likes: Grant, Owly, singing at Edge 102, being treated like a human being, music (especially Garbage & old style Canadian Bands), imitating accents, rollarblading, etc. Dislikes: being treated like something without feelings, large amounts of water, small yappy dogs, salad. History: Max is a Beta Automata (an android), built in England where they are used as laborers, although Max herself had never been used thus (for one thing, she was far too expensive to risk). Max fled from England a handful of years after her "birth," supposedly as a result of a dispute over Sam, another android who happened to be obsolete (and thus was destined for destruction). As was the case with most vanished androids, she eventually made her way to the City. She then fell into Alistaire's company, and later met Grant. She's a special kind of android, created specifically to blend into a crowd, and be undetectable from the rest of humanity. However, because of ethical concerns, the British government decided to halt production of the 'betas.' She and Sam chose their names after watching cartoons. Androids are not known for any level of creativity or imagination. They are, however, quite capable of feeling. Personality: Though quiet when first meeting people, Max still enjoys the company of others, but chooses her friends with care: some people tend to react negatively to androids, especially in the face of City law (all artifical beings are outlawed in the City). Max is nimble and as an artificial being enjoys great control over her body; she is fond of physical activity that would give even a well-trained athelete pause. Notes: To me, Max has always been Max first, an android second. I tried not to get too wrapped up in the fact that she is an artificial being... but failed miseribly in early written works. Now that I've moved past that (I hope... ^^), she's more of a character, and it's easier to work with her. She makes a good narrator, mostly because she exists outside the Trilogy circle, and can view the story more objectively. |
